photography: your silent salesman
Photographic images are the most powerful source of visual communication on the internet. With one simple glance the viewer can determine volume, girth, weight, color, value, shape, dimension, and the price they are willing to pay for the item.
Using poor images to advertise products or services is one of the worst mistakes a company can do on the internet on anywhere else. Imagine that you walked into a store and all the products were sullied. Be honest; would you buy a few items, or would you leave that store in a hurry?
Like it or not viewers do make assumptions of your online company due to the website design and the photos you use. These are the first things browsers see as your store loads onto their screen. Poor photos portray small size, lack of sophistication, and lack of attention to detail. They make you look like a beginner.
All the writing in the world cannot overcome the impact of poor imagery. Descriptions become void, adjectives become lies, and deals get over looked.
Great images intertwined with great design create a enjoyable browser experience. This brings you one positive step closer to turning your browser into a buyer. This makes your photos a silent ( good or bad ) sales person.
